The topic of the proposal was the assignment of the week. I had to identify a need for a specific engineering innovation, the design and production of which I had to conceive and propose. Initially, I chose to speak on the health care system of NYC, which is a matter of great discussion among the citizens of this city, but surprisingly finding research information on the matter proved to be quite a hassle which compelled me to find another topic to speak about. I ended up choosing something related to health but this time the health of the environment which consequently impacts human health. The pathway I designed to help with the reduction of pollution in NYC, was to introduce a reworked car policy, specifically with electric cars. The state could start promoting these cars and also be in talks with electric car companies to close the cost gap between conventional cars, that emit harmful gases in the air, and these innovated electric cars. The increase use of such cars would be a major help to the health of our city not only environmentally but also lives of the people of today and the future.
